All Rugby Union In New Zealand Is Suspended Indefinitely
Earlier today, the New Zealand Rugby Football Union Inc. announced that "all rugby in New Zealand [is] suspended for the foreseeable future", with the health and welfare of the wider rugby community, in light of the Government's "Level 4" COVID-19 status declaration, of primary importance.
What this decision means for the full-sweep of the Council's 2020 programme is still to be determined. In the meantime, the Council continues to plan ahead, in the expectation that the second-half of the year may see a resumption of the game. To this end, the 2020 Competition/Tournament Rules will still be finalised and published on this web-site in early April, as is usually the case.
The Council's Executive Board extends its best wishes to all rugby-whanau (both in New Zealand and overseas) who are affected by the COVID-19 global pandemic.
