A Game Of Two Halves Sees Wellington Win
The old cliché of “a-game-of-two-halves” was played out at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Sunday, as Wellington defeated Hawkes Bay by 47 points to 7 in the Central Region Shield.
Scoring seven tries and six conversions, Wellington were ahead by 40 points to 0 at half-time, only for Hawkes Bay to hold them to a 7 all draw in the second half of the match.

Both Naitoa Ah-Kuoi and Todd Svenson scored a double for the Junior Lions, with No. 10 Callum Harkin scoring 17 points of Wellington’s total.
For the visitors, Lincoln McClutchie and Danny Toala scored a second-half try and conversion respectively, while replacement Wing, Nikau McGregor was probably the player of the team, being industrious across the field, creating challenges for Wellington’s defence.
