Undefeated Wanganui Defend Their Hurricanes Under 20 Title
Wanganui RFU have successfully won three out of three matches to confirm their status as the top Under 20 side in the Hurricanes Region.
In Round 3 of the Hurricanes Under 20 Development Series played in Palmerston North on Saturday, Wanganui scored a 27 points to 21 bonus point win over Wairarapa-Bush, who had a chance to win the title themselves had they toppled Wanganui.
With two wins from three matches, Horowhenua-Kapiti ended the competition in second place, following a 29 points to 20 win over Poverty Bay.
Horowhenua-Kapiti’s Brodie Huthnance, along with Harerangi Meihana (Wanganui RFU) and Andrew Tauatevalu (Poverty Bay) were named Players of the Series.
Attention now turns the Hurricanes Under 18 Competition, where our Heartland Provincial Unions will have a further opportunity to demonstrate their up-coming talent.
