Wellington And Manawatu To Contest Central Region Shield Final

Following an entertaining match at Porirua Park on Saturday, in which Wellington emerged 31 points to 6 victors over Hawkes Bay, next Saturday's Central Region Shield Final will be played between defending champions Wellington, and Manawatu.

In the other Round 2 match played in Palmerston North, Manawatu defeated the combative Hurricanes Heartland Under 20 Team, by 27 points to 18. With both Wellington and Manawatu on equal competition points after two rounds, home advantage for the Final goes to the team with superior points differential, meaning the match will be played in Wellington.

In the other Round 3 match, the Hurricanes Heartland Team, who currently sit in third place on the competition table, will host Hawkes Bay in Palmerston North. In Saturday's loss to Manawatu, Harry Symes (Wanganui) scored two tries for the Hurricanes Heartland side, with a try also Chris Breuer (Wanganui) and penalty to Ethan Robinson (Wanganui). The half-time score was 15-10, to Manawatu.
